Policies

Criteria for Interment

  1. Must be a resident of Denair, or
  2. Have family in the cemetery, or
  3. Have previously purchased a plot

Plot Care

The Denair Cemetery Association does not provide the service of perpetual care. The responsibility of caring for each individual private grave-site is left to the family members or their independently hired agents. The Association reserves the right to remove weeds, debris, etc. should the Directors determine a site “neglected”. Additionally, and upon their discretion, the Directors will exercise this control to remove from grave-sites various items which would be ruled “inappropriate” for cemetery grounds. Due to liability concerns, no glass containers are allowed at the grave-site.  The family may plant such small plants or bushes on plots as they are willing to maintain but no trees may be planted without prior permission from a Board Director.

Funeral Considerations

  1. No Sunday funeral services will be conducted at the Denair Cemetery.
  2. Gravediggers will not lower and cover the casket as part of the funeral service. This will be done only after the service is complete and the mourners have left. There are no exceptions to this policy.
